VAC BOARD MEETING 3/24/2026
Attendance: Greg Hoover, Milana Tepermayster, Nancy Hoover, Toriea Brown, Courtney Vasquez, Lena Forrey, Fred Stipak, Melissa Grau, Jen Hand, Maribeth Vuksanovich
Call at 5:47pm – Call to order by Greg.
Prior minutes from February 24th 2026 were not recorded, the Secretary did not attend the meeting.
Last meeting follow up- Storage unit- Greg to follow up again before the next meeting the person at the storage place has been very busy and hasn’t had the time to discuss.
New business
Financial Report provided by Melissa, Bank is in good standing. There are still outstanding bills from the classics and silvers. Melissa is going to ask Jen about the classics final report for the next meeting. Taxes have been filed and paid for.
The taxes were picked up by Melissa on March 2nd and a zoom meeting was held on March 3rd at 5 pm to discuss and approve. In that meeting Melissa motioned to approve and Toriea seconded, they were unanimously approved. Greg, Courtney and Jen also attended.
Bronze meet- Concessions, Bjs order is being placed tonight for pickup on thursday well be ordering subs for saturday and doing bagel pickup and pizza ordering friday. The meet is predicted to be smaller so we will not be using the gym. The rug order was cut in half. Jen is sending Casey the meet end times.
Summer program- We do not have a pool this summer again. The school is doing more maintenance. We will be checking with pine bush, washingtonville, newburgh city pool, and ulster pools to see if we can use or rent their pools this summer and possibly add long course meets.
High school volunteers- The school has reached out to Greg regarding high school kids still needing volunteer hours and have offered their kids to help at the bronze meet. We will be sending over the opportunity when we know how many we may need.
Banquet- All deposits are done for Dj, the venue (Lake Osiris country club) Desserts need to be ordered from BJs or Restaurant depot. The invite for that will go out after the bronze meet.
Elections– We need to send out the google form and add nominations for Trustee event planning and Trustee Concessions as Kate and Brenda are leaving the board.
Remaining Board meetings– April 6th at 5:30 pm at the pool, April 14th 5:30pm at the Pool, May 19 5:30 pm at the pool, June 16 5:30pm at the pool, July 28th TBD
Spring registration/tryouts/start dates for all groups/parents meeting-
- Tryouts run April 6 – 9th
- Blue and white won’t begin till April 14th.
- 2 hour groups will begin April 6
- We will hold an introductory meeting for new swimmers and parents on April 13th. Only new parents need to attend.
*Greg has spoken to the athletic director and we can go though the middle school or high school to get through to open the doors for practice.
The next board meeting is April 6th at 5:30 at the pool to discuss new Bylaws and policies.
Banquet board meeting is April 14 at 5:30 pm at the pool.
Parent meeting for new swimmers April 23rd at 5:30 at the pool.
